Good question, Aslan. Thanks for asking. I would love to see The Circle by Dave Eggers made into a film. It's a new novel, and kind of advanced, but it is really great. It's about the Internet and privacy. I like all Dave Egger's books--they should all be films!

Hey again, Mr. Kerwin! I enjoy movies of books, and the movies they are making for the HOBBIT are pretty awesome! The only thing I dislike is the fact that they split one book into three movies!! Otherwise, I enjoy the additional plot screws and the action scenes are breathtaking! Another book series I read, THE HUNGER GAMES, has (of course) been made into movies, but I have not seen any. Oh, and yes, I am excited to see the OUTSIDERS movie, and I also can't wait for Outsider's Day!!! Have a good one this weekend when we get there, Mr. Kerwin!

A lot of people were upset with how the story of Noah was portrayed, Amelia. I appreciate your objections. I didn't have a lot of problems with it though up until the end. You are right--the director may have taken a few things too far in the name of drama. Overall though, I loved the visuals, and the way the portrayed Noah as a flawed man, a conflicted character struggling to obey God's plan.

Hey Mr.Kerwin, I like when books are turned into movies only if I get a chance to read the book before i see the movie because sometimes they leave out very important details so when I see the movie and they leave out important stuff And if it is not good I don't want to read the book because it doesn't seem interesting so I really don't want to read the book. I also like to have backroond information on the movie that I got from the book so I know what is going on. I enjoy watching movies that are from books so I can see if what I thought the charecter looks like is correct and I like to see what actors they use to play the parts of characters in the movie. I also only like to watch movies that came from books if someone has given me a good recommendation of the book cause normally if the book is good the movie is good but that is not always the case. In conclusion I like to read books that are made into movies as long as I read the book first.

Hey, Mr. Kerwin, I like books are made into movies most of the time. I like to read the book before I watch the movie usually because then I know all the background information for the movie. What I don't like, is when people write really good books, but then in the movies skip over good parts or change them. I like when books are made into movies just to see if the actor looks different than my description of the characters in the book. One book I really want to see turned into a movie is "The Darkest Path". It's a really good Sci Fi/realistic fiction book.

My opinion on movies that are based on books is that they are bad. For example, I have read Rick Riordan's Sea of Monsters and I loved it. But, when I watched the movie I was utterly disappointed because the movie had a completely different plot and barely had any content from the book. Another example is the book Eragon which I loved for its story but the movie was horrible because they decided to leave out many parts of the book and some important characters. No matter what happens I will always like the book better than the movie because you can imagine and visualize it in your own way.

I really do not like when they make the book into a movie unless the movie is full of detail from the book. It makes me feel what I read was wrong and not in the story its self. It also really ticks me off when the movie producers add something that wasn't even in the book to the movie. Its just for the ratings and publicity! A lot of people liked the book the way it was. But I like the movies when they get the book strait on. Like Lord Of The Rings or Harry Potter. This is why I am always a little bit nervous when I go to see a movie about a book. So to sum it all up I don't like the movie about the book.

I like when they turn books into movies because it helps you see the book more clearly. For example, I read Alex Rider : Operation stormbreaker it was great, but I couldn't imagine what the characters looked like. but when the movie came out I saw the characters more clearly. Another example is that you see the action live. When your reading a book about an actioned book you sitting there thinking how the action looks in real life. Plus, one of the best parts is that if you don’t have enough time to finish it. Reading a book takes couple of weeks, but the movies about an hour and a half.

Great blog, Alikhan! Great observations. You're right, watching the movie is a time-saver, but I don't get as much out of the movies as I do the books. One exception is the movie Big Fish, directed by Tim Burton. This was much better than the book in my opinion.

This week I read the same book Spirt Animals. The kids, the main characters, finally meet each other to begin the adventure. The spirit animals then grant them great powers, such as flying. But the world is getting darker, the evil is coming. So they have to go fast before it takes over the world.

Hey, Mr.Kerwin! I think that you are right about the books being better than the movies. one reason is because when I see the movie, the characters look nothing like the cover on the books and it feels like I don't even know who that person is! Another reason is because they do leave things out just like you said. Although usually they aren't major parts, it isn't quite the same. Great topic idea! I love the idea of the students making a decision type of blog. Please make more topics like this!

In the book I am reading, All The Wrong Questions, I am at the part when the boy and Theodora go to an elderly lady named Mrs. Sallis house to figure out what is wrong. “A priceless item has been stolen from my home, and I need to get it back.” said Mrs. Sallis. The item is a small statue, about the size of a of a bottle of milk, made of extremely rare species of wood that is very shiny and black in color. Mrs. Sallis falsely accuses the Mallahan Family. They’ve ben enemies of the her family for many lifetimes

Hi Mr. Kerwin! I personally like when books are turned into movies. Although, I enjoy reading the books first, the movies are enjoyable, too. I think the books are better than the movies, because they go into greater details about the characters, traits and their lifestyles. I pick out books when I know they are going to be turned into movies, because I know that they will be good, juicy stories. For example, I picked out the book (series) Maze Runner because I knew it was going to be turned into a movie. I enjoyed both movie and the book.
