Two scenes stuck out a lot to me in the documentary God Grew Tired of Us. One of those scenes is the section where we saw the children and teens in great hunger. We were able to see the effect that great hunger had on humans. This scene stuck out to me because us as Americans don’t experience situations anywhere near the extreme that the Sudanese do. The second scene that stuck out to me a lot was the reunion of John and his mother near the end of the documentary. I thought this was intriguing because of the way that John’s mother was rejoicing. Sometimes we cry and hug and more things like that when we meet after being separated for awhile. In Sudan, they people appear to have a much different way of celebrating. For example, John’s mother seemed like she was screeching in a high pitch all throughout the airport in celebration of meeting her son again. These two scenes contributed to the documentary by contrasting American lifestyles to Sudanese lifestyles. Americans don’t typically experience extreme hunger like the Sudanese might and so the creators of the documentary showed viewers what life is more like in Sudan. The same goes for the airport reunion. The creators of the documentary wanted to contrast celebrations of Sudan and also show an important moment in John’s life.

There were many scenes in the documentary, “God Grew Tired of Us” that stuck out to me a lot. Here are the 2 that I felt were the most important and stood out to One of the 2 scenes that really stuck out to me was when the lost boys were being showed their apartments and how everything worked in them. Like the electricity stuff like lamps, light switches, and the fridge. The other scene of many others that were important to me was at the end where it was saying what happened to the boys and what direction they were going in with their lives. The reason it was important to me was because it said that Daniel did not get any sign of his family which shows that not all the lost boys that got sent to America got to see their family again and might not ever.

One of the scenes that stood out to me was the scene where the boys were in a war and were fighting. The reason this scene stood out to me is that kids like us are out there were fighting a war which must be terrible for those children. This contributes to the entire text because it shows what these kids had to go through. The second scene that stood out to me was where the men got in trouble because they were walking into a store together. This stuck with me because these men couldn't even walk into a store without being judged or that the people think that they are going to rob them. This shows that america is full of judgement. This contributes to the text because it shows that these men couldn't go anywhere without being judged by everyone even thought they were peaceful and have done nothing wrong.

One scene that stood out to me was the scene at the pool. This is because most people were very nice and kind, while others were a bit disturbed by the presents of Panther and the other Lost Boys. Most of the people that were nice to the Lost Boys, where kids. I think as kids, you are less quick to judge people by the way they look, as for adults may be more cautious depending on whether they like the way the person looks. I think it was weird how a person would judge another on their looks unlike kids. Another scene that stood out to me is the scene when the mother and son were reunited. The mother was overwhelmed with joy that she was crying and even fell to the floor. The mother had not seen her son in over 17 year, and this scene was very touching to me.

Two scenes that had the most impact on me was the part where the Lost Boys went to the swimming pool and when one of the Lost Boys went missing and went crazy. When the Lost Boys went to the swimming pool only kids were friendly towards them. The adults ignored or judged them when they were swimming. This shows how much Americans have become unfriendly and cold to strangers. This affects the whole documentary because it shows how immigrants and refugees are treated by American’s. People don’t want to welcome them and are sometimes rude. This represents the struggle of having to survive in a whole new world. Another scene was when one of the Lost Boys went missing and crazy. It shows how hard adjusting was. Many Lost Boys were confused and often went crazy with fear. This affects the documentary because it shows how to Lost Boys had to adjust, however the fear and the terror of the war stayed with them. They would confuse their new life with the old. That is two scenes that had the most impact on me in the documentary.

In the documentary God Grew Tired of us , many scenes stuck out to me. One scene that stuck out to me was when John Dau reunited with his mom. This stuck out to me because John Dau and his mom thought they were both dead and were relieved to see both alive, also this emotionally moved me. Another scene that stood out to me was when the lost boys saw new foods, drinks and other items for the first time. This stood out to me because not everyone understands everything. John reuniting with his mom contributes to the documentary because he is lucky for his family to be alive , most lost boy’s family died. The lost boys seeing and interacting with new things contributes to the documentary because not everyone knows what cleaning liquid, ritz crackers and a shower is. It’s like they’ve entered a new world.

One scene that really stood out to me was the scene when Daniel and panther went to the public pool and weren't as nervous to talk to the people there but the kids were more friendly for some reason. This stood out to me because this shows that they are very brave and not afraid to show who they are and they weren't scared to show and tell who they were or interact with the other people that was there. The second scene that stood out to me was the scene when John reunited with his mom. This stands out to me because he hasn't seen his family in 17 years and i know it was hard to be without your mom or whoever u were with for a very long time and John's mother was super super happy and excited to see her son and i would have been happy too. John was also very lucky that his mother was still al9ve because he hasn't heard from his family in a very very long time. This contributes to the whole text because life isn't always as easy as it seems to be and other people don't go through the same things that others do and everyone is not the same.

There were two scenes in God Grew Tired of Us that impacted me. In one scene, Nicole Kidman described how shop owners were filing complaints about the Lost Boys traveling in groups because it was intimidating to them. I thought this was ridiculous! It's stereotypical to say that black people traveling in groups are intimidating, because not all black people are dangerous. This scene contributes to God Grew Tired of Us because it demonstrates how people in America are stereotypical because of their personal experiences. This is a theme conveyed throughout the documentary. In another scene, Daniel and Panther are at the grocery store and a man gives them a look of confusion as they are learning new things about food. This is also quite ridiculous! We have all been told by are parents to not stare, and this guy is just downright staring at Daniel and Panther. That's why we're told to mind our own business. If someone is doing something different from what you do, don't look at them as if they're off their rocker!

In the movie God Grew Tired Of Us by National geographic there were two different scenes that stood out to me one of them was when the migrated to Pittsburg. It stood out to me because they were getting shown around there new apartment and asking questions that sounded weird to us but they haven't seen anything like this before so it was cool to be able to watch them get use to all of there new stuff. It contributes to the whole text because later in the movie they were showing the camera man around so i thought of how they went from getting shown around to showing other people around. Another part of the whole movie that stood out to me was when the city of pittsburg kept getting complaints about the whole friend group Panther, Daniel and other lost boys were intimidating traveling in somewhat a pack like they did back in sudan This contributes to the whole text because It was wrong of the city of Pittsburg to not let them travel in packs just because the color of their skin and racal imstremides they might of had. They have been through some much already and to make them travel in smaller groups and not packs like they did back in sudan. Despite that problem the documentary was quite good.

One of the two scenes that stuck out to me were when John Dau met his mother in a long time she was celebrating so much and his sister. He was so excited and nervous. She was screaming everywhere she went. It reminds me of how I haven’t seen my grandparents in a couple of years I was so happy when I they came back to America. Another scene that impacted me was when Panther was going back to Africa to marry his girlfriend and bring her to America. These 2 scenes contributed to the documentary because when John figured out his parents were still alive he was so happy and his roommates were happy for him. Panther’s scene contributed to the documentary because he still had a person he knows that he was still alive back in Africa and was ready to marry her and bring her into America. Their purpose was to help the people back in Africa and make their lives way better.

The first scene that had the most impact on me in the documentary God Grew Tired of Us was the scene were the children had gone days with starvation and you could see them starving. This had a big impact with me because the idea of children going through extreme starvation to the point of death is startling and painful. This contributed to the whole documentary because it showed the juxtaposition of the situation that the lost boys were in vs the situation that everyone in the room watching was in. The second scene that was also impactful was the scene where John Dau works in the factory and then takes us to his second job in Mcdonalds. This scene is incredibly impactful because John is very smart and should have an easier job and should not have to work two hard jobs. This also contributes to the documentary because we see how he is treated here and how unlucky he is compared to the people with financial stability and a whole family to support them in their lives.

One scene that stuck out to me is when he met his mother, because it was a really unique type of reaction. She was really excited that she kept celebrating jumping up and down when they were leaving. Another scene that impacted me is when John Dau was in the middle of a speech with the lost boys when they reunited. He was talking about why they changed their looks and forgot about the Sudanese culture. For the first scene when John Dau mother came to America they were showing how hard it was to be separated from each other for 17 years, and that they never gave up. And for the second scene it showed that when the lost boys came to america they only cared about how they were going to live. But Daniel, Panther, and John still cared. They worried about how they can help their families.

Two scenes that stood out to me in God Grew Tired Of Us was when John Dau got reunited with his mom and sister after 17 years. This scenes stood out to me because John lived on his own without parents starting at the age 13 and his mom was so happy because after 17 years without her son she finally got to meet the new John, the grown up John. This scenes contributed to the whole text because it shows how lucky John is and that not many Lost Boys get reunited with their families after 17 years without them. Another scene that stood out to me is when they first got to America. This stood out to me because it showed how lost The Lost Boys were, everything was new to them and they had to adjust to American culture. They didn’t know how to use a light switch something that you and me find normal, you get out of bed and switch the light one. That was something they didn’t know how to do, also something they have never done before. That was the two scenes that stood out to me in God Grew Tired Of Us.

The two scenes that impacted ne the most were the scene when they are being shown around the apartment and when they were told they cant walk into stores together because the store owners were intimidated by them. These scenes stuck out to me the most because in Africa they live differently they didn't have the technology that we have in America. Daniel,Panther and his other friends were used to having technology like this around them. In Africa they didn't have houses like that and had to adapt to their new environment. The second scene stood out to me because when they walked in the stores and were told that they can't walk in groups because the store owners felt intimidated really made me feel astonished. I was astonished by how the store owners would just say that I thought that they were being racist to them. Just because they were black and were walking in a group the store owner felt intimidated as if they were gonna hurt him. These two scenes contribute to the whole documentary because it was a new life for them in America with many challenges and these two scenes show that. The first show how where you live affects how you live. The second one shows the challenges of living in a new place which is what the whole documentary was about or a good portion of it.

The two scenes that had the most effect on me was when one of the lost boys went crazy and when the lost boys first got to America. When the lost boys first arrived in America everything was new to them. When they got to the apartment the manger had to show them how everything worked. They did not know how to use electricity or running water because they did not have that in Kakuma. This scene stood out to me because we use these things every day and we take them for granted. Also, all the foods in America were not native to them. This contributes to the whole documentary because things are very different between the two countries. The second scene that stood out to me was when one of the lost boys went crazy and was taken to a mental hospital. I found it sad and surprising that he went crazy. It must be hard to have so many traumatic memories from Sudan and not knowing where your family is. This stood out to me and contributes to the documentary because most people in America do not have to go through what he did. Most people have their family. Overall I found these two scenes important to me and to the whole documentary.

There are two scenes that stuck out to me when watching the documentary God Grew Tired Of Us. One of the scenes is when John Dau’s mother came to see him and she got really emotional. It stuck out to me because they were both happy to see each other after being separate for a long time. This scene contributes to the whole documentary because it shows that they were separated for 17 years and thought that they would never see eachother again. The second scene that stood out to me is when the refugees were being shown how everything works in an apartment. This stuck out to me because we never usually think about what we do in an apartment like turning on a light or the sink, but this is the first time they’ve used any of that. It was also funny to watch them struggle with using objects that we use daily. This scene contributes to the documentary because it shows that this is going to be a large transition for the refugees and it will take a while for them to get used to a new lifestyle.

The two scenes that had the most impact on me in the documentary were the scene showing the children in Africa who were facing extreme hunger and the scene showing the Lost Boys trying to get used to life in America. The hunger scene was really sad because I know that around the world, many people live comfortable lives with access to as much food as they want. When I saw this scene, it made me realize how little food there is in some parts of Africa like the refugee camps, and that in America we get it really easy. This scene contributes to the documentary by helping to explain how difficult life can be for people forced from their country like the Lost Boys, and shows that the world is very different in other places. The scene explaining how they had to get used to life in the United States also showed how different life is in parts of Africa like Sudan. The Lost Boys had never used electricity, never went to a grocery store, and ate very different types of food. This scene again shows how in two different places in the world, the culture, advancements in technology, and just life in general is very different. It contributes to the documentary by showing how hard it must have been for them to adjust to living in the United States. They had to completely change their way of life, while also trying to hold on to their culture at the same time.

In the documentary God Grew Tired Of Us by National Geographic, the story about The Lost Boys of Sudan. They were called that because when the war broke out and in the face of adversities a huge amount of boys had fled to refugee camps, some in Ethiopia and then to Kakuma. Among them , were Daniel, Panther, John. They had lived in the Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya for 10 years and then a United Nations organization decided to resettle some of the Lost Boys to the U.S, and they were the three lucky ones. Daniel and Panther were located at Pittsburgh and John Dau was located in Syracuse, New York. In this documentary, there were a few scenes that could be described at disturbing or even light. Though it wasn’t the disturbing images or scenes that had an impact on me. It was the scene when they had spent 3 years in America and they were starting to forget their culture. This really had an impact on me because I can relate to them very much. I have also been living in America for 3 years and indeed I did not come from a war though I was very similar to them. I wasn’t used to this world. When I came to America I was confused, why and how is everything around me is so clean, why is there no chalkboards. These were the questions I had three years ago. 3 years later, I have changed. Now my questions are who won the super bowl, and etc. I have really changed in these 3 years. I couldn't even speak English back then. I can really understand why they were changing because it's hard not to. Now, this is scene had an impact on me though they also contributed towards the whole story. This scene contributes to the whole story because this scene makes John and the others think about Sudan, so all of them try and help Sudan. Secondly, the scene when John meets his mother again after 17 years had an impact on me. This is because, I can't imagine losing my mom for a day even, and they had to live for 17 years. She is the one who has kept me going, also stood beside me. This scene contributes to the text because it very broadly describes the hardships of other Lost Boys, maybe who haven't found their families. Like Daniel also said, it really is very hard for all of them. All in all, in the documentary God Grew Tired Of Us, these two scenes had the most impact on me.

in the documentary God Grew Tired Of Us there where many scenes that had major impacts on me. One scene that had a major impact on me was The scene when John dau actually explained how he felt god grew tired of us and why it was the title of the book. One way it had a major impact on me was cause when john was actually explain how he felt that way it was sad cause you could tell he had a lot of emotion in it and how he actually believed it too and that really stuck out to me. Another scene that had a major impact on me was the scene where it explained how one of the lost boys suffered so much that he actually was mentally unstable and has to go to a physiatric hospitals for it. One way it was important was it showed what all these things could do to you and how its hard for the people who have to go through it. I think these scenes where important to the document cause it shows what these lost boys had to go through. That was two scenes in the documentary God grew tired of us that were important to me.

In the documentary, “God Grew Tired of Us” many scenes stuck out to me. Out of them all though the two that stuck out to me the most were when they were at the pool and when John Dau was reunited with his mother. The pool scene stuck out to me because when The Lost Boys were there, many people were interested in learning about who they were and where they came from. The kids were especially interested in learning about the Lost Boys because I feel like kids don't judge people as quickly as adults might. The scene where John Dau was reunited with his mother was an impactful scene because after 17 years the mother and son were joined together again. The mother was so happy to see her son and it also showed that people in Sudan might celebrate differently than in America. This is why those two scenes were two of the most impactful scene in the documentary to me.

In the documentary God Grew Tired of Us there are many important scenes. One scene that had a big impact on me was the scene where John reunites with his mom after 17 years. This scene stood out to me because of how happy John and his mom were to see each other. This scene contributed to the documentary because it shows how much the lost boys missed there families. Another scene that stood out to me was the scene where they talk about how people were calling the police on them for walking into stores in large groups. This scene stood out to me because I was shocked that someone would call the police on someone for not doing anything wrong. This scene contributes to the documentary because it shows how people thought that the lost boys were going to do bad things because of the way they looked and how they were treated poorly. Those are the two scenes that stood out to me the most.

The 2 scenes that most stuck out to me in God Grew Tired of us was the scene where John got reunited with his mother and when the lost boys first landed in america. The reason why the scene where John got reunited with his mother stuck out to me was because it was just so happy. It was just so nice to see John have a happy ending. The scene contributes to the whole documentary because it shows that some of the lost boys did find their families again, and that life did get better for them. The reason why the scene where the lost boys first arrived in america stuck out for me was because it must of been so different for them. They came from a land with no electricity, no running water, and no indoor plumbing. To a world where all 3 of those things are ubiquitous. This scene contributes to the whole documentary by showing the juxtaposition of their old lives in poor rural africa. To their new lives in modern, urban america.

Two scenes that had an impact on me include when John Dau met with his mother and when the men that went to America did a house tour. When John Dau met his mother after over a decade, they were both in tears and John's mother could barely stand. That made me so sad that they hadn't seen each other in so long but also so happy for them to have met up. This contributes to the text because it shows that the war can do awful things to you like being separated with your family. Another scene is when the men were having a house tour. Most of the things including a bed and mattress, the men did not understand what they were. This shows me how lucky we are to have everyday things. Normally, we don't think that others don't have what we have. This contributes to the text because it shows that Sudan does not have things that we have here and we should be very grateful for what we have. All and all, those scenes had the most impact on me.

The documentary, “God Grew Tired of Us” was the awe inspiring story of southern Sudan’s many Lost Boy refugees. The story focused on three Lost Boys relocating to America. All of the scenes provoked mixed emotions for me, but two scenes stood out more to me than other ones. The first scene was when Daniel, Panther, and some of the other Lost Boys that were relocated to Pittsburg were being shown there new apartment. The boys were very intrigued by the light switches, toilet, shower, and refrigerator. This scene stood out to me because it showed how these machines that we use everyday were completely new and fascinating to the Lost Boys. I found it surprising and almost sad that the boys had no idea what these necessary items were. This scene contributed to the whole document by juxtaposing a normal American apartment and the refugee camp in Kakuma. It showed how different the two places were, with more objects, less people, and a cooler environment than there was in the refugee camp. The second scene was when John Dau was reunited with his mother. His mother ran up to him and wrapped her arms around him, shouting in joy. This scene stood out to me because it pictured the pure happiness that both of the people experienced from seeing each other after 17 full years. This part of the movie contributed to the whole document because it influences the need to stop the war and it showed the effect of this separation. If John was never chosen to go to Syracuse, he most likely never would have seen his mother again. But this scene shows that if we stand up to help those in need, their joy will not be alone. Helping others spreads happiness, and “God Grew tired of Us” is the perfect example of this statement.

Two scenes that stood out to me in God Grew Tired Of Us is the scene where we observed the children in great hunger, while you can almost see their bones sticking out and the scene where they got their first apartment, and they did not know anything about electricity or where to store food. The scene where the children were in great hunger affected and stood out to me because while it was disturbing, I realized that we almost take food for granted because food here is as simple as grabbing it out of our cabinet or refrigerator. We have to realize to not waste food and understand the fact that there are millions of people in a great risk of death because of starvation. The scene where the lost boys first got into their new apartment, stood out to me because it almost shocked me to see how they did not know how lights in our rooms work and how to store food in the right place. They kept flicking the lights on and off to learn how they work, but it was also funny at the same time. They also did not know how to turn lamps on, because that was hard for them. This made me realized that their whole life that they didn't use lights or electricity and made me wonder how difficult their life could be. 2 scenes that stood out to me in God Grew Tired Of Us is the scene where they have first seen their new apartment, and when we saw the bones almost sticking out of childrens' because they were starving to death.

During this documentary two scenes stuck out to me very much. One scene that stuck out to me in this documentary is when the guy was showing around the apartment. This scene stuck out to me because it really showed how much different America is to certain countries. This contributes to the whole documentary because this scene shows how difficult they had it in Sudan, and how they have never experienced something as little as a toilet. Another scene that stuck out to me was when John Dau finally got to see his mother because everyday people take for granted seeing their parents, but it shows how long they haven’t seen each other, and how sad it is. This contributes to the whole documentary because throughout the documentary John talks about finding his parents over and over, but when they finally met it showed how emotional it was. In conclusion, these two scenes stuck out to me during this documentary.

One scene that had an impact on me was the scene where The Lost Boys learned how things were done in America. This is because it was so different from how they were living in Sudan. In Sudan, they slept on floors and had no electricity and showers to bath in. In America, all of that changed. They slept on beds, they used electricity, and they bathed in showers. Also, in Sudan they went for weeks without food, so when they went to the grocery store, it was amazing to see their reactions because everywhere they looked, there was different types of food. Another scene that had an impact on me was the scene when John Dau was reunited with his mother after about 20 years. It was great to see them together and their reactions. I felt happy when that happened. One scene that contributed to the whole documentary was the scene at the refugee camp in Kenya because the people there are now safe until they go back to Sudan. They do not have to deal with the war and they can be calm and in peace. Another scene that contributed to the whole documentary was the scene when Daniel, Panther, and John Dau were leaving to go to America. This is because they are leaving to start a new life. Even though they are leaving everything that they have had behind, they have more chances to find their families and make sure that they are safe.

In the documentary God Grew Tired Of Us there are two main scenes that stick out in the documentary, these two scenes that really impact on the Lost Boys lives. When the lost boys finally got cleared to get out of Southern Sudan so they could go to America, so they could be free from war really impacted all of their lives. This scene in particular was a huge part of the documentary, it’s the one point in all their lives to be safe. Another big part of the movie was when John Dau finally got to see his mother after 17 years of not seeing her. When they finally saw each other it was probably one of the best moments of John Dau’s life during his time in Syracuse. You should never take anything or any moments in life for granted, because you’ll never know if it will go away.

The documentary “God Grew Tired of Us” by National Geographic had so many scenes that had impact. 2 scenes that had the most impact on me from watching “God Grew Tired of Us” was the scene when John Dau, a lost boy from Sudan, met his family again after 17 years of separation. This was sweet because he missed them so much and would sometimes question if they were even alive from the war. It had meaning to me because it was an important time in John’s life and family to me is the most important thing to have in life. This scene contributes to the meaning of the documentary because in the film a lot of the lost boys including John Dau, Panther, and Daniel all wanted to get reunited with their families and make sure they are well and ok. A second scene that had meaning to myself is the scene when everyone from the lost boy camps were happy and singing along to songs and dancing along to tunes. This was important to me because, In my opinion, everyone should be happy. No one deserves to be lonely, hungry or sad. This scene has contributed to the text because like the first scene, all three boys were happy and even happier when they realized they were going to America. These two scenes in this documentary had the most meaning and importance on me.

The God Crew tired of us is a good film movies. One scene is the mother crying when seeing son. This helps the adventists have emotion in the movie. Another scene is when they all got there first and where trying to learn to get used to the life. This shows the inexperience they have with the new york.

There were two scenes from “God Grew Tired of Us” that had the most impact on me. The first scene was the scene where they were walking in a smaller group to a market since they were told that the walking in a big group was intimidating to the store owners. That scene had the most impact on me because I found it really sad that they couldn’t walk into a market together but a family could walk together into a market. This is especially unfair because the lost boys are close like family. The second scene that also had impacted me a lot was the pool scene, all of the adults just sat around and stared at the lost boys while all the kids were kind and talked to them. The kids talked and tried to learn about the lost boys and where they came from. These two scenes contributed to the documentary because it shows how different people act around here compared to the people the lost boys were used to being around. Around here, people don’t go out of their way to say "hello” but back where the lost boys are from, everyone went out of their way to talk to them and say hello. This makes me feel sad.

The documentary, “God Grew Tired of Us” was a story of hope from south Sudan about the lost boy's journey to the U.S. The first scene that meant the most to me was was when the boys were first learning to use the tools we had here in America. This meant a lot because it shows how hard it is to use our tools but it is so easy for us because we grew up seeing our family using. Another important scene to me was when John and his mother reunited because it showed how hard it is to think that your family is dead because we have always had someone caring for you.The two scenes I chose that stood out two me impacted the whole documentary because when they showed the very edited clips of them figuring out how to use our tools it shows how hard it is in America when we think it is easy peasy. I think that if we we went to Africa we would have a hard time adjusting. Lastly when John saw his mother for the first time since he was a kid. It shows how little worry we have in our lives, I will never know how hard it is to go through what they went through and and I know I will never experience an event that haunting. Hearing that people in this world went through and surived makes me move foward everyday.

In the documentary “God Grew Tired of Us”, one scene that had the most impact on me is the scene showing the hungry lost boys traveling in Sudan. This impacted me because it showed me that in some parts of the world, people don’t have enough food and water, and that they are facing adversity. All of the lost boys were very skinny, and I felt bad for them. I think we should be thankful for the food, water, and shelter that we have. This contributes to the whole documentary because it shows what the lost boys were dealing with before they got moved to the United States of America. Before they moved to America, the lost boys were facing adversity, hunger, thirst, and we understand why they would come to America in the first place. Another scene that had a lot of impact on me was the scene when John Dau reunited with his mother. This impacted me because it makes me think how hard it is to think you lost a family member, and how it feels when you reunite. This contributes to the whole documentary because it is another hardship the lost boys had to face. The way John Dau and his mother rejoiced really showed that the lost boys missed their family and were really happy to find them again. These are the two scenes that had the most impact on me in the documentary “God Grew Tired of Us”.

In the documentary that we watched the two scenes that had the most impact on me where when all the lost boys were traveling to a refugee camp to stay at. They were starving and they were beyond skinny. The purpose of this part was to let people understand how much pain and suffering they went through and to give us a visual of what was going on in there lives at that moment. Another part of the documentary was when they were getting a house tour in their new apartment. It really explained how much stuff we take for granted that other people have never even heard of or seen. The purpose of this part was to let us know that some places in the world don't have things as good as we get it. And to never take things for granted. They didn't know how to work half the things in their new house. This document helped explain the book A Long Walk To Water too.

The first scene that impacted me the most was when the lost boys had to bury their friends who died of starvation on their long walk to safety and freedom. Those boys were playing with other children and doing house chores, then BAM their country was in the midst of a civil war. They fled the violence and the armies who wanted them as soldiers. The lost boys again died because they didn’t have enough food to feed everyone. 11-13 year old like John had to bury them with nothing but their own hands. When was the last time you did that in America? This shows that generations can be destroyed by war. The second scene that impacted me most was when the lost boy ran away from his house and fellow lost boys. All we know about him is that he past the test to go to america was doing fine for the first few months, and then he didn’t come home one night. He was found four days later wandering around the streets. He was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome because of what he saw in Sudan. We were never told his name. He was then move to a “Mental” facility. For children in america that doesn't usually happen. This shows that everybody truly has a breaking point, and that war broke him.

Two scenes that made the most impact on me in the documentary God Grew Tired of Us was when the four boys first moved to pittsburgh and when they were being judged by their skin. For my first scene, the boys just moved to Pittsburgh from Sudan and are getting shown around their new apartment. They have no idea what anything was and/or how to use it. This impacts me because it’s crazy to think some people in different states have never seen a shower or a grocery store in their life. It makes me feel grateful that I have access to multiple things others don’t. My second scene that impacted me was when the four boys went into a grocery store in a group and many people became frightened because they said it felt like they were threatening them and looked dangerous. Of course I believe if white people were traveling in groups the people would be fine with it. It impacts me because seeing people being judged on their looks makes me unhappy. People shouldn’t be judged on what they look like on the outside, it’s the inside that really matters. The two scenes in the documentary that stood out the most to me was when the “Lost Boys” first moved to Pittsburgh and had no clue what anything was, and when the boys traveled in groups and scared many people only because they were African Americans.

Two scenes stood out to me in God Grew Tired of Us. One of the scenes that impacted me the most is when they went to the pool. This stuck out to me because it showed how a majority of the people were staring at Panther and the others, But if someone who was from around here went to the pool then people would not stare as much. Another scene that impacted me was when John reunited with his mother. This stuck out to me because she was screaming and she fell to the ground with excitement. This shows how much his mother had wanted to see him. If someone got separated from their mom, and they were both from syracuse, I feel like their reaction wouldn’t be that exciting. These two scenes had contributed to the whole story. The pool scene contributed to the whole story because it shows how some people might think that it’s weird to see Lost Boys, or it is just that they were judging them by how they looked. The reuniting scene contributed to the whole documentary because it shows how people are more loving and more kind in Sudan than here. Those are two scenes that are important to me in God Grew Tired of Us.

Recently in English Language Arts class, we watched a documentary called God Grew Tired of Us about the lost boys of Sudan. These are the two scenes that had the biggest impact on me. First, in the beginning, when they showed images of the lost boys crossing open African plains on foot, I really felt sorry for them more than any other time. I have read an entire book about that journey, but only then did I really feel like I was there with them and suffered through what they had suffered through their journey. That stuck out because it made me imagine my life as unfortunate in those times as theirs. Second, when the lost boys were boarding the plane to leave Sudan for America. I almost cried because I imagined if I were leaving my friends who I had spent 10 years with. This stuck out because again, I imagined myself in their place and all the emotion that I would feel then. Both of these scenes from the documentary, God Grew Tired of Us contribute to the whole text. They contribute to the whole text because they both show how lives in some places are a lot harder than other lives. Their purpose was to show us exactly what they went through and how god grew tired of them. First, god just left them to walk for their life and see where it took them. Second, god was so tired that he said just go and leave Sudan and me alone. Go to the far away place of America and I won’t leave me here to rest. These are the two scenes that had the biggest impact on me.

There was many scenes in the documentary God Grew Tired Of Us, but two stuck with me. One of the scenes was the scenes that stuck out to me was the scene in Pittsburg where it was seen that one of the lost boys was putting RitzⓇ crackers in a cup and was smathing them with the handle of a hammer, then he poured milk into the cracker cup. This scene stuck out to me because they had no idea that was not how we eat in America. If we saw someone crushing crackers with the handle of a hammer and then put milk on it, we would think they are crazy. The Lost Boys are so accustomed to the grain powder that was given to them as food in the refugee camp, that they don’t understand anything else. Another scene that stuck out to me was the scene that stuck out to me was when the Lost Boys in Syracuse where at Peters supermarket. This stuck with me because they were surrounded by so much food, and not only that bust all these new foods that they never knew existed. All in all I think that the producers of God Grew Tired Of Us did an outstanding job of showing the journeys that the Lost Boys had to go through.

A scene that stuck out to me in the documentary God Grew Tired of Us was the scene when the lost boys were in the airport traveling to america, and all they had were these plastic bags with the logo of the company funding their air travel and new journey. This scene stuck out to me because it made me think how the lost boys didn’t have much to travel with that they could carry. They were given small bags to hold everything they would need to travel from Southern Sudan all of the way to where they were going to be placed in America. This scene contributes to the whole documentary because it shows and tells us that in our lives and in the other travelers in the documentary coming from america and other better off countries, we usually end up packing suitcases of things to bring on trips, but they were being sponsored and were not traveling with a lot. Another scene in the documentary that stuck out to me was the scene when the lost boys in Pittsburgh got Ritz Crackers, put them in a container for maybe heating up water, and then started mashing them until they were ground and were all separated into crumbs, then they poured milk into it. This scene stuck out to me because what they were doing seems strange to a person who has lived in the U.S. their whole life and has never eaten what they were making before. This scene contributes to the whole documentary because it shows the lost boys were used to and accustomed food that hey got back in Sudan (which we saw in an earlier scene). They took the Ritz Crackers and made them look like what they had been used to back in their native country. These are two scenes that stuck out to me in the documentary God Grew Tired of Us.

In the documentary God Grew Tired of us the scenes that had the most impact on me were were when they showed how thin the children were after the walk and when the boys first started their new lives in America. I think that showing how thin they were really demonstrates the lack of food that the lost boys were provided with and it really is a miracle that they survived the harsh conditions of South Africa. When the boys started their new lives in America everything was so different from their lives back in Sudan, people were judging them and knew nothing of their culture. The boys’ adaptation to this new world really showed how grateful they were to be safe, taking on multiple jobs at once from early morning to late nights. And even doing so they still retained their culture and beliefs and wanted to help others back in Sudan. Overall the documentary God Grew Tired of us

Once Salat Ali was recognized as a rich person thats how they think of Americans it actually shocked me because some Americans are in poverty too. The story with Vinessa Johnson was cool because she gave you a seperate perspective for each person. Brendan Kiely was funny and told a lot of stories and explained how there were 2 different Americas
