As of January 30th, you have made it halfway through 7th grade at JDMS. For this week's blog post, I'd like to hear your reflections on the first half of 7th grade. What have been some of the highlights of your first 20 weeks (in ELA or otherwise)? What are your goals for your future as a 7th grader? I'm also looking for your comments on your reading progress thus far this year. How many books have you read so far? What ones have been your favorites? Be sure to proofread your blog post and check that it is at least 100 words.

I can't believe we are already halfway through this school year! It's gone by very fast, and it's been very fun. I have done so much, I can't possibly tell you all of it in a blog. I've read a good amount of books, but my favorite one so far was probably "The Maze Runner" by James Dashner. I just finished that book and have already started to read the second book of the trilogy, "The Scorch Trials". My biggest goal is to keep my grades right where they are. Usually the second half of the year is when you get all of those big assignments that are worth a lot, and those can either bring your grade up a lot, or down.

Hi Mrs. Stillitano! I can't believe the year is already half over! One of the highlights of my year was doing modifies sports. I really enjoy them! Also, I'm reading a new book called Empty, that I really enjoy! Although, I'm not so sure how many books I've read, this one is by far my favorite! One of my goals as a seventh grader is to become a more well-rounded student. Instaed of excelling in one class, I would like to spend more time focusing on the subjects i have trouble in. Thanks! Have a great day!!!

So far, I think my year in 7th grade will be the best year yet! I like my teachers, classes, and most of everything we are learning. My goals for the rest of the year would to get better grades, try out for Varsity swim team, (and hopefully make it in!) and also to volunteer in my community more. I hope I can juggle all of these activates and things I’m doing, and still focus on school, but I think that with self-motivation and hard work, I can excel for the rest of this year and beyond. I don’t know exactly how many books I have read so far, but I’m guessing a lot, because you and Mrs.Bruneau sure give us challenging work!!! –Amelia Hesler

The best part of 7th grade so far has been learning new stuff. I love to learn and find out wonderful new things. My goal my the end of 7th grade I want to have all A's. So far this year I have read 6 books, my favorite book was, City of ember. I also liked reading my first literature circle book, Rot and ruin. At the moment I am reading the compound and I will be done soon.after I am done with the compound I will read the fallout and the drowned cities.

The first half of the years has been great, I have definitely learned so much. I have read a lot of books throughout half the year and look forward to reading many more. One of my favorite books that I've read throughout the half was The Compound, which was my first lit circle book of the year. One thing that I enjoyed was doing lit circles because it let me explore new books that I never even knew existed. One of my goals I would like to achieve this half is reading all the books on my Someday Book List because all the book I have written down interest me in some way.

School so far has not been fun. I like meeting my friends and some classes are fun, but what I don’t like is the whole “waking up early” thing. In all seriousness, though, school has been fun. It’s hard at times but I try to get through it. The books I have read so far this year include: Girl Stolen, Saving CeeCee Honeycutt, Uglies, The Ear The Eye and The Arm, and I am currently reading 13 Reasons Why. I’m am only on Chapter One but it seems like a good book, and my friends that have read it say it is good. That is how this half of the school year has been for me.

I cannot belive that half of the year has gone by so fast. I think I have done a good job for the first half of the year. My highlights have been the debate we had today. Having an 100% percent in social studies at the beginning of the year. Having Mr. Kerwin as a teacher. And finally the last highlight is meeting some new friends. Some of goals for the year are to have straight A's, finish the Divergent series, and I guess not to survive but thrive to the end. I have read 12 books this year (I finished Stotan tonight ). My favorite books so far were the Divergent Series, Kit's Wilderness, and the Outsiders.

Hello. A highlight of this year would be getting all A's so far. My goals are to keep doing just that because that is really important to me. In progression reading wise, I have really just learnt plenty of new vocab but I really didn’t/don't have much that I can progress in reading. This year I believe I have read around 5 or 6 books not counting ones we did in lit circle. My favorite so far would probably be The Compound because that was a very good book and was quite different from the previous books I have read recently.

I am proud to safe I’ve made it half way through 7th grade. It has been challenging and the amount of homework has been rising since the start. I can say I’ve lost a few friends but I’ve made many more. I’ve really enjoyed being able to talk to people about TV shows and how annoying some of the school work really is. As to my goals for the future they are pretty standard. Get good grades, try my hardest and the sort. I have no idea how many books I have actually finished this year though. I have started a few but then I got bored and went to something else. But I am planning to finish a few though. One of the things I am planning to do as of my goals for the future is to read more complex books such as award winners and stuff you’re supposed to read in high school.

So far the first half of my 7th grade year has been astounding and vivacious. I have liked every thing from first period ELA to 8th period math. I have so much fun with The Outsiders, Mr. Kerwin, and today in first period we had the argument. Some of the goals I have to set are to had in my homework on time and try to be a better student than I am. So far I have read about 10 books. All of them were great and I liked them a lot .In ELA I wish to a little better this marking period and to try my best.

So far, in the 1st half of 7th grade, I feel like that I have done an acceptable job. Some highlights in ELA so far would be any time I got a 95 or better on a test, quiz, or project. Some goals I would like to achieve this year would be to hold an A or B in all my classes. This year I have read 10 - 15 books so far and have enjoyed most of them. My favorite ones were the "Rot and Ruin" series by Jonathan Malberry and "The Maze Runner" series by James Dashner. I hope to find more books that I like to read and can add to that list.

So far this year has been great, there are so many highlights of this year i can’t even list them all. I have made so many new friends and I love being in student council it is very fun and I get to do a lot of cool things. I plan on getting through at least 5 more (bigger books like 400-500 page)books this year, and i have already read so many great books such as “Everlost” a science fiction book by Neal Shusterman, “Unwind” which is also a science fiction book by Neal Shusterman, “Four” also a science fiction book by Veronica Roth. Wow i hadn’t realized i have read so many science fiction books this year. I have also read so many more but those ones have been my favorite so far (other than the divergent series also science fiction and by Veronica Roth.

In my view, the most significant event I have looked upon since these past weeks was Hairspray, it was such a fun and entertaining time. It was also fun when we went to the pep rally, and it was worth the ludicrous and confusing schedule. I really did like the dancing part of that pep rally, it was amazing to see people dance that well. I honestly expected that everyone would flail around like a fish, desperately trying to win. I'm still glad that I wasn't chosen to take part of the games we played, I would've died of extreme embarrassment. My goals for the future is to get okay grades, not the best, but not the worst, just passing grades. I've read 8 books so far, and i'm torn between "The maze runner" trilogy and "The knife of never letting go" series, I'm edging towards "The Maze Runner" more than the other. I'd give it a 9/10 for rating, giving the other an 8/10 (or 8.5 at least.)

Hey, Mrs.Stillatano, it's been a great first half of JDMS. In 7th Grade, a lot has changed from 6th grade. To be honest, it really surprises me. Each and every year of middle school changes a lot and I have no idea what 8th grade has in store for me and my fellow peers. As far as accomplishments go, I have been doing significantly better in Spanish class and my overall average in general. I've also been doing amazing in math and is probably my best subject, which honestly surprises me. I'm apparently one of the first in my family to be good at math, so I hope I can pass on this trait. As far as goals go, I want to improve on turning in assignments on time. I always forget to turn them in for some reason and I'm hoping I can find a way to remind myself to turn it in. Another goal is for me to try shooting for even better grades. I could improve a little bit in science and social studies, and I think everything else is fine. I hope I can end the school year strong. Before I know it, I'll be in eighth grade!
