We are beginning literature circles this week in class. You had a lot of freedom in choosing both your literature circle group and the book you are reading. In your blog post this week, explain why you and your group chose your literature circle book and what you think about it so far. Was it the right book choice for you? Why or why not? Explain your answer in at least 100 words and be sure to proofread before submitting your work.

My group and I chose our literature circle book, Monster, because we have heard great reviews about it. Also, the cover was very intriguing, and the back summary hooked us instantly. Monster, by Walter Dean Myers, is about a sixteen year old African American named Steve who is accused of murder. Steve narrates the whole story through a movie, with different scenes, speakers, and settings (which are the courtroom, the jail, and flashbacks from Steve's early life). Although the reader has no idea who is innocent and who is guilty, they are led to believe that Steve is telling the truth and that he committed no crime. This was a great choice of book for me because I am not used to reading types of novels that include mysteries and forensics. I usually do not read novels that are written in the form of plays or movies, either. Reading this book will help me better understand a different genre, but will also provide a suspenseful read for me and my lit circle group.

My group chose to read the book Human.4 by Mike Lancaster. We chose our literature circle books because it was one of the books with multiple copies and when I read the summary it intrigued me and my group.I think it is a very good book because it is very suspenseful and there are many plot twists. It was so good I have already read all of the book. Sorry :) I think it was the right choice because everyone in my group that complained over how bad it was and everyone at our discussion seemed eager to talk about the book. i think we picked a good book and we were right.

Our literature circle group chose the book, "Waiting for Normal," a realistic fiction book by Leslie Connor. It is pretty good, but I don't love it. Sometimes the characters Connor develops are contradictory of themselves. For example, Addie says she hates Webster's Dictionary, but she constantly looks up words in it. However, despite this, I think it was the right choice for our group. We all had different qualities we were hoping for in our literature circle book. Someone wanted a girly book, someone wanted a book that wasn't too scary, someone wanted a realistic book, and someone wanted something dramatic. This book has all of these things, and not too much of anything. This was a good choice for our group.

The Book that my group chose for the literature circle was "The Witch And Wizard" by James Patterson. We chose this book because all of us like the author, James Patterson, who wrote books like I funny, Daniel X, Maximum Ride, and the Confession series. So far I really like the book. I think that it is a great choice for my group, because we all like fantasy books that are set in present day. Even before we started reading this book, we pretty much new that we would like it, because we have all read at least one of James Patterson's books and liked them, and we read the back cover

Me and my group chose the book Cinder by Marissa Meyer for our literature circle book because we like science fiction books. The only genre that we all liked was science fiction, so we decided to get a science fiction book. We got Cinder, Cinder is the first book in The Lunar Chronicles. So far, me and my group think that the book is good, but there are better books. I think me and my group may the right choise by picking this book because i think it gets more interesting as it goes on. The beginning is kind of strange, but i think the end is going to be pretty good.

The book my literature circle chose is, Eleanor & Park by, Rainbow Rowell. My group and I chose this book because we wanted a mature realistic fiction book that wasn't to long. Also, one of my group members recommended this book. So far, I think the book is very interesting. I can make a lot of text to self connections with Eleanor. Eleanor & Park was the right choice to make when it came to book selection. It is the right choice because this book has everything we want in a book such as, maturity. This book is hard to put down and if I could I would read it in one day.

No my lit circle book was not a go book for me . I don't like it because I don't like war books. And I don't like killing and our book has people dieing In it.also it is kind of boring right now and I'm not enterested in the book I gust went with the flow of my partners. I wish I could have read a basketball book instead of this one.

My group and I chose this literature circle book by looking at the amount of copies first because I have a large amount of people in my group. Then found a couple and looked at them to see what they were about. After that, I showed them to my group members to see if they had any input on the books. Finally we narrowed it down to "Human.4" which is a Sci-Fi novel. This book was definitely not for me because it is really hard to keep track of the things that are happening in the book.

I liked the freedom that I had in the choice of my lit circle book and the group I am in because I didn't like the previous groups that much. This time, I was able to choose a book that I was interested in and not from a list that is from a certain genre or related to what we are learning about. I love the book that I chose because of the type of genre it is and how it is written. It is written like a movie script and goes by really fast you hardly notice that you have read that much.

My group and I chose the book Waiting For Normal by Leslie Connor. We chose this book because Mrs.Stillitano told us about it and many of my friends and people in my class said it's a good book. I think it was a good decision that we chose this book because i've never really read any book like it or by this author. This book is a really good story so far but at times it may seem a little different from what your used to reading. But sometimes that's a good thing if your used to reading the same types of books. I think many people can relate to this book and enjoy it in some of the funny time's they go through as a family and sad time's as a family through out the book.

For my literature circles, Sophie, Jennifer, and I chose the book, Cinder by Marissa Meyer. One reason why we chose this book was because it was Sci-Fi and we all like Sci-Fi books. Another reason why we chose this book was because we thought it would be a good book to discuss. I've been reading this book for about a week now and so far, I think it's good, but not great. I think this book was a good choice for me because I understand what is going on most of the time, and the parts of the story are easy to discuss. I don't know if I'm going to read the rest of the series, but Cinder is a good book so far.

Our group chose our book because we thought that a book about war would be an interesting read. I think that the book is really good the action in it is exciting its suspenseful. I believe that the book was a good choice for me because I've never read a war book before and I have been meaning to branch out to other types of books and not just science fiction. Also i think the book was a good decision because it makes for good discussion and there are lots of good questions to ask. Thats why i believe that our group made a good decision in the book we got.

The book my lit circle group chose was waiting for normal By: Leslie Connor. We chose this book because Mrs. Stillitano recommended it to us and she said it was a book we would enjoy. I was really excited when I found out that we were allowed to chose our own groups and book because I was looking for a good book I have never heard of before and that interested me. I overall really enjoy this book so far. I like how the life style of the main characters is different than a normal realistic fiction main characters story.

Our literature group chose the author, Catherine Jinks, because her books had a number of different genres that our members appealed to. I chose "The Paradise Trap", which was horror. Nick chose "Evil Genius", which was a mix of satire and sci-fi. Will chose "How to Catch a Bogle", which was sci-fi. I like my book so far because all the characters are quirky in their own way and I think it was the right book for me due to my love for horror novels.

The lit circle book our group chose to read was Monster. We chose this book because it looked really interesting. Some of us had heard really good reviews about it and we thought we should try reading it. We have some different opinions about the book so far. Some of us find it a little bit boring and some of us find it very suspenseful and interesting to read. In a way, this was the right book for me because it’s different from what I’ve read before. The plot and the story is not something I usually read. The format of the writing is something I’m not used to either. It’s written in a script like a movie with some pages every once in a while that are written in the main character, Steve’s journal. So, I get to try something new. I don’t love the book. I feel like it’s a little bit monotonous in a way. I also don’t love this type of book. It seems like the story isn’t going anywhere and everything is just staying the same. But, maybe it will take a different turn.

The book that I am reading is called "Monster" by Walter Dean Myers. The reason we choose this book is because we like the way it sounded on the back of the book and we liked the way it was written. I LOVE this book so far. This is because the is a lot of good parts in it and there it a lot of surprises in it. I think this book was the right choice for me because I like reading books with problems we have today so I can learn from them and this book is relating to people who are on trail that had nothing to do with the crime. I love this book and if you read it I bet you would, too.

Our group choose the book Red Midnight by Ben Mickilson. We found this book in the fiction section of the library. We choose this book because we thought it looked cool and we were familiar with the author. Also we read the summary and thought it would be a cool book. So far the book is a page turner in my opinion. It has a lot of action which i like in some books. I think this was the right book choice because I like all the action. I am glad I am reading this book it was a good choice.

The book I chose for my Lit circle group is called "Human.4". We chose this book because it was short enough to fit on our schedules, and it was science fiction which is one of our favorites! Right know, what I think about the book now is that there's a lot of detail on what's going on so you know what is currently happening. Though I'm still wondering why everyone is frozen during the talent show, I'm sure more information on my question will still be answered. I'd say this was the right book for me because it's my favorite genre, and it's not too long.

My group and I have been reading "my Brother, my Sister, and I" for the lit circle book. As we were scrolling through the books, one caught Clayton's eye with the words "world war II". I read the description on the back and thought it looked like a good story, so we tried it. The book has been really exciting so far and has lots of suspense. I dont want to ruin the book for you just in case you are going to read it, so i wont say anymore. I do believe this book is the second in the series but the first book is not needed to understand the second one.

My literature circle chose the books Witch and Wizard, and then The Gift, both in a series by James Patterson. I am in a literature circle of five, including Ben V, Sarah, Skyler, Anna, and I. We chose the books because of the author, James Patterson, who has wrote many books that are so well written, and impossible to put down. It was a good choice because both books are suspenseful and hooks the reader, and it includes a sense of humor. So far, I think that is a wonderful book that’s well written and contains suspense and excitement, leaving you always wanting to read the next chapter.

I chose my group because we had already done a literature circle together earlier in the year. We worked well together then and we ended up choosing a good book that we all loved. We chose "Painting the Black" by Carl Dueker last time. This time we ended up choosing "Red Midnight" by Ben Mikaelson this time. We choose this book because I have read other books by this author like "Rescue Josh McGuire" and I loved them, so I recommended that we read a Ben Mikaelson book and "Red Midnight" looked very good. Also Ben Mikaelson himself was very interesting when he came in last year.

Our Group Chose the author did for many reasons. First of all the author we chose has a variety of books to choose form so there not all the same genre and our lit circle members can choose the book they want to read the most. We also chose the author because no one in the group has ever read any of her books so we wanted to see if the author is a good one. I think the author was not a good choice because since we all read the same author but not the same book it will be much harder to do the symbolic thing.

My lit. circle group chose to do the "Witch and Wizard" series by James Patterson because some of us have read other books written by him and we really like his books. The first book, "Witch and Wizard" and the second book, "The Gift" have been really good so far, we can’t seem to put them down. I think the book was a really good choice for me because it is a fast read, but you also have to pay attention to little details so you can understand what happens later in the book. Anybody who likes and type of suspenseful book would love this series or and book by James Patterson.

The book my group chose was "My Brother,My Sister and I" We chose it because 3/4 people liked the book. It takes place 1945 after the atomic bomb in jJapan. Ko, Yoko, Hideyo are forced on the streets after a fire burned down the place they lived in, and people who were caring for them died. They're wanted for there murder. Facing hunger, cold, and no shelter but a small hospital room, they must all survive together. They hope to find their father . All the odds are against them. I think it was the right choice. I love the book, and I'm pretty sure my group loved it too.

My group is doing different books by the same author. I chose the book "How to Catch A Bogle". it is a good book for me because I like Sci-fi. In this book My main character Birdie Catches monster for a living called bogles. It is a very good book with lots of detail and description. I mainly chose it because i wasn't here the day we chose and it was the only book left in the library by her. Even though I like the book I think that i would have chosen a different book with a different author. I also would have chosen a group ding the same book.

My book is Deathwatch. We picked this book by picking a number 1-10 because Zach and I wanted deathwatch, but Tarky and Mateo want some slave book. I think this book is ok so after because there is not a lot of action in the book and some parts are useless to the book. Like a helicopter came, but just left right after it landed next to Ben. I don’t think this book was right for my group because we wanted a more intense book with a lot more action. We didn’t get that with this book. That’s why my group thought it was an ok book.

For our literature circle book, we chose a realistic fiction book called "Deathwatch". In this book, Ben goes on a hunting trip with a man named Madec for money. Madec accidentally shots somebody and Ben wants to go to the sheriff's office. Madec is scared of jail and leaves Ben in the dessert. Ben must get out and survive while having no water, food, and protection from the sun. This book is okay but very boring in some parts of it. My group is getting bored of it. I reccomend this book to anyone who likes survival and some action in a book.
