My research topic for this assignment is Pablo Neruda. He was a poet who grew up and lived in Chile for most of his life. His father was not supportive of his writing career, and Neruda had a hard time especially in the beginning of his career. He had many friends and was always caring for those in need which made him very popular with the public, but he was not liked by the government. Though he started out as an average poet, he became a part of a communist group, and had many poems about his thoughts around this topic published for the public. Neruda was hunted by the government for this reason. Running from them was made easier for him because of his many friends he had made throughout his life who allowed him to stay in their homes or helped him in other ways. He was able to release many more of his poems and thoughts to the public during the time he was running, which was very brave of him. He felt very strongly about the things he wrote about, and intended to make others feel strongly as well. I am excited to write the "so what" of this piece because I think it will be interesting to relate such a unique person to everyone else. Pablo Neruda seems like a great research topic and I am looking forward learning more about him!

For the research project I choose to research “Mary Edwards Walker” The social justice issue that Mary Edwards Walker faced during her lifetime was gender equality. She graduated medical school, but during the mid 1800s people was not as accepting of woman who practiced medicine. I chose this topic because I thought she was a great woman that paved the way for future woman who wanted to achieve amazing things. She showed woman that you don’t have to be afraid to go after your dreams, no matter if they seem unbelievable or unachievable in the eyes of society. I am most excited to put the final piece together and hand in my final draft. I am the least excited to meet the deadlines, I always seem to just scrap by the final deadline.

I chose Rosa Parks for the research. She is a civil rights activist. Her movement to become a social justice activist all started on December 1st 1955. Rosa was on the bus on her way back from work when the bus driver said that she had to give up her seat to a white man. However, she refused and got arrested. After her arrest all of the African Americans started a boycott. This started her movement of the civil rights for racial equality. I am looking forward to learn a lot more about her and what she did after that as a social justice activist. I chose this topic because I thought she was very interesting when I researched her at first and I wanted to learn a lot about her as well.

I choose Frederick Douglass for my research. For the social justice issue, he didn't like slavery and he protested about women and African American people's freedom. I choose this topic to research because I know little about him and He is a great leader, Social Justice Activist, and author.I'm most excited to learn about his Protests and how he grew up being a Slave.

My research topic is Jesse Owens. He is one of the most prestigious track and field records in history. He grew up in Ohio in a rather poor family. He went to Ohio State University on no athletic scholarship even though there were many schools that offered him a scholarship. He won multiple national championship there and after that won four gold medals in one Olympic. That Olympic was in Berlin during Adolf Hitler’s reign over the Nazi’s. During that Olympic Jesse Owens defeated Aryan superiority and show Hitler that everyone was equal no matter what race or religion. That made Jesse Owens a racial equality social activist. I chose this topic because I like sports and racial equality in sports really interests me. I love to learn about what these people like Jesse Owens and Jackie Robinson who really evolved their sports, the world, and the people around them. I am excited to learn more about Jesse Owens and what he has done for the world and track and field.

For my topic I chose Jane Goodall, she is known for her study of chimpanzees, conservation, and animal welfare. Goodall encouraged the idea of observing chimpanzees and wildlife. Jane really stuck out to me for her love and knowledge of animals, I was very impressed with her work because she pressed on though it was difficult. She also had a lot of struggles in her life like a divorcement that happened in 1974. The thing i'm most nervous about for this project is probably the flashcards because I don't know if I am right when it comes to sorting the cards in the separate columns, background, social action, and legacy. However i'm excited to present my piece because iv'e always liked sharing my work pieces with the class. This is also an independent project so I am kind of nervous because i'm so used to working with a group or partner, I am really excited for this event and I can't wait to learn more about Jane Goodall!

For my research topic I am researching Gerrit Smith, a 1800's anti-slavery activist. He mainly donated large amounts of money to others who would use the money for anti slavery actions. Gerrit also gave land and money to former slaves so they would be eligible to vote for their countries leaders. The social justice issue I am focusing on are his acts against slavery. Because he did so much, and gave generous amounts of money to people who needed it, I chose Gerrit Smith as my research topic. He worked up until the time of his death alongside Frederick Douglas to abolish slavery, and never gave up. The only research process that makes me worried is getting enough for his legacy section of my report, otherwise everything else looks good.

For my research project I chose Florence Nightingale. The social justice issue that Florence Nightingale helped with was women rights, she was a nurse and wanted everyone to have equal heath care. She went to Crimea with 34 other nurses to help wounded soldiers in late 1854. When she was there she improved the sanitation and she cut the death rate from 42 percent to 2 percent. She spent all of the hours she was awake helping the wounded, even at night so she was called “the Lady with the Lamp” also “the Angel of the Crimea”. She stayed there for another year and a half before she left and returned to her home. I chose Florence Nightingale because I saw her on the list in the packet and didn’t know who she was so I looked her up and I thought she was interesting so I decided to pick her as my social activist. I am looking forward to learning about how Florence influenced the world now with what she did for women rights.

I chose to research Jackie Robinson for my research project. The social justice issue that Jackie Robinson faced was the fight for equality between black and white people. His movement for equality started when he was chosen to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Most players on the team joined in a rebellion to take Jackie Robinson off the team. He wasn't aloud to stay in some hotels with the team with his color. He gave other Negro players the confidence to play onthe major leagues and changed baseball and society all together. I chose this topic because I'm a fan of baseball and new who Jackie Robinson was but I didn't know much about him. I am most excited about learning about his experience playing with the Dodgers. I am least excited about finishing on time.

My research topic for this project is Susan B. Anthony. She was an activist who supports women rights. I chose this topic because I didn't think anyone would be interested in her, so I could be the only one doing this topic. Another reason I chose this topic was because I had heard about her and what she did and I supported her. If it weren't for Susan B. Anthony, the women today would not be treated with respect and Hilary Clinton and many more would not be running for president. I am most excited to learn things I never knew about Susan B. Anthony because she is a wonderful person. Also, I am excited to write the "social action" part of this paper because it will be very interesting and action packed. I am so happy to be researching Susan B. Anthony!

For my research topic I chose Harvey Milk, a well-rounded and well-liked student that came from a time where people still thought homophobia was a mental illness. Harvey was not one of those people. He was a gay rights activist that fought for equal rights for all people who were gay, including him. He managed to survive high school after he came out and then decided when he graduated that he wanted to go to college at New York State College for Teachers in Albany. He gradated in 1951 and him plus both his parents joined the U.S. Navy to help serve his country during the Korean War. Milk was a diving instructor at a base in San Diego, California. Harvey was discharged in 1955 and moved to NYC where he tried out a variety of jobs but none of them fit him. In 1972 he left NYC to move to San Francisco and opened a camera shop called Castro camera on Castro Street. His life and work was in the heart of the city’s gay community but he kept to himself and stayed on the sidelines till he started meeting other people that were gay. That’s when his camera shop finally took off and became a neighborhood center. His voice as a leader as well as an activist came alive as well. 1973 was the first year he declared his candidacy for a spot on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Since he had little money and experience he lost the election. But that didn’t stop him from trying again. Two years later he lost again, but just barely this time because he had now become a political force and an outspoken leader in the gay community. Harvey gained many political connections during his campaign. In 1957 the “Mayor of Castro Street” finally won his seat on the San Francisco City-County Board. He became the first openly gay officer and the first openly gay individual to be elected to office in the U.S. His campaign was mostly about fighting for gay rights but also to fight for child care and housing plus other issues to a civilian police review board. I chose this topic because one of my Mom’s clients/friends are lesbian and are now married and living in a house together that my Mom helped them find. Another reason was because so many people overlook this topic because they’re uncomfortable with it or still think it’s a mental illness that should be illegal. But I think marriage equality is something I’m glad we have according to federal laws. Our country is finally starting to evolve to try and accept people the way they are. They can’t help that they are born a certain way; it’s not a choice. I’m looking forward to learning more about him and the difference he made in many lives.

For my research I chose Mohatma/Mohandas Gandhi. Gandhi was a anti-violence activist. During the famous Salt March an act of civil disobedience in 1930, Gandhi led a group of over 50,000 people down to the Arabian sea to make salt. Almost every citizen was arrested in this action including Gandhi who was released one year later in 1931. I chose this topic because I like Gandhi's action by how he helped people and I only know a little about Gandhi and I wanted to learn more. The part of this project of this project that will make me the most worried is because I haven't found any index cards for my legacy section. This is why I chose Gandhi for my topic for my research project.

For my research topic I chose Susan B. Anthony. Anthony fought against multiple injustices, was an abolitionist, suffragist, and fought for temperance. My main focus for this assignment is the gender inequality aspect, because it is mainly what she is known for. I chose this topic because I feel very strongly against gender discrimination, because no matter what gender, people have an equal ability to do something. Susan B. Anthony stood out to me the most because I knew of her name but, didn’t really know what she did to take social action. The most exciting part for me is learning more and more about Susan B. Anthony, but Im not sure if writing this piece is going to be very exciting.

For my research I chose Jackie Robinson. He was a star in 4 different sports and helped end segregation. He was the youngest in his family. His father left Jackies mother when he was only one. In high school and collage he had to deal with lots of racism. When Branch Rickey signed Jackie for the Dodgers Rickey said '' I want a player that will control his emotions'' I chose Jackie because I know a lot about him. The part of the research that makes me exited is that I got a good pick and also learning about America back then.

For this research project, I chose to write about Nelson Mandela. He was a civil rights social activist who changed South Africa’s government from an apartheid government (a segregated government) to a democracy. Mandela went through so much adversity, including jail time to becoming the president who won the Nobel Prize. He was the first African president of South Africa, who was up until then ruled by Europeans since the age of exploration. I chose to research Mandela because it is fascinating to think about a man being in jail for 27 years, and then becoming the Nobel Prize winner and the president of the country he was a prisoner for. What I’m worried about for the research process is actually writing the essay with all the sub-headings. It’ll be interesting how the project turns out, though.

I chose Rachel Carson for my research project. She is an environmental activist. She went against harmful pesticides to birds and other wildlife. I chose Rachel Carson for my topic, because I wanted to research someone I didn't know anything about. I am most excited about the legacy part of the project. There is a lot of changes that Rachel Carson helped make.

For this research project I decided to research Florence Nightingale. Florence Nightingale was a nurse in the mid-1800s who helped in the Crimean war and the Civil war. Around that time, nursing was not a very good job like it is today. After saving many lives, she returned home a hero. Because many young girls wanted to be a nurse like Florence, nursing was soon a very popular vocation(job). I chose to research Florence Nightingale because I wanted to do someone I knew absolutely nothing about. So, I chose a few names and researched them, and I enjoyed reading about Florence's contribution to society so that's why I decided to research Florence Nightingale. I love getting to know my person and using many different sources to read about her life and her actions. The part I'm not looking forward to is the writing of the "essay", even though it's more of an article that would be in a magazine. When Mrs stillitani first said we had to have 20 notecards due almost every day, I was really nervous. Then she said there was only supposed to be one fact per note card. Then I was a little happier. But I still don't like that.

For my research project, I chose to research Jesse Owens. Jesse Owens proved that African-Americans can be athletes and proved Adolph Hitler wrong. I chose to research Jesse Owens because he is an athlete, Olympian, and has a memorable name and legacy. This is an exciting research project because there is so much to learn about Owens and it is easy for me to make notecards.

For my research project I chose Malala Yousafzai. She is a education advocate, mostly for girls and women. Her father, Ziauddin, also speaks out for education and he encouraged Malala to express her feelings from a very young age. Ziauddin founded the Khushal Public School where Malala and many other students go. When Fazlullah and the Taliban began controlling parts of Swat Valley, they tried to prevent women from as many things as possible. Women weren't allowed to go to school, or go outside without a male relative, even if he was a five-year-old boy. Dancing, music, CDs and televisions were said to be un-Islamic and were publicly burned, and many people were publicly whipped. Though the Khushal Public School was told to close because they taught girls, Ziauddin kept it open. In 2009 Malala began blogging for the BBC under the pseudonym Gul Makai. She wrote about her fear that the Taliban would close the school, or attack it. Malala was revealed to be Gul Makai later that year and she quickly had a public platform. She wrote speeches and spoke at countless places, and the Taliban issued a death threat against her. On October 9, 2012, a man boarded the bus on their way to school and fired three shots. The first one went through Malala's left eye socket and ended in her shoulder. She was transported to Birmingham, England, and there began to recover. The Taliban didn't silence her voice, they only made it louder. I chose this topic because the issue Malala stands up for is something I feel very strongly about and it is all very current. I am most looking forward to writing the actual article because I have a lot of information, and it's very interesting to me.

For my research project I decided to research the famous baseball player Jackie Robinson.Jackie proved that black people are just as talented and important as white people. He was the first Africa American baseball player. I choose this topic because I didn't know that much about him besides he was the first African American baseball player, so I wanted to know more about him. The most exciting part of this research process is what he did to help civil rights because we get know how he worked to help African Americans. Also we get to learn more about him. I am very happy we are doing this research project.

My research topic for this project is Jeremy Bentham. He lived in England in the 17 and 18 hundreds. Attending college at 15 years old, Bentham was considered a child prodigy. He aspired to become a lawyer, as his father wanted. Being a lawyer only made him realize the inequality of England’s laws. He was very dedicated to literature and philosophy, which is why he wrote many books. Two of them are The Principals of Morals and Legislation and A Fragment on Government. He focused on many different social justice issues in many of his books including women’s rights, animal rights, more representation for the people of England in Parliament, and advocated for educational rights for race and religion. I chose Jeremy Bentham as my research topic because I didn’t want to do something on the list that I knew a lot of people would be researching. Also, because I really liked how he spoke up and represented the people of England using his knowledge and his gift with philosophy. The part of the research process that made me a little nervous was my worry of not being able to find enough information on Bentham. Our school library had no books on him, so the only way to access information is online. I was excited to research someone who lived such a long time ago and set the foundation for many of the laws that England made back then. Overall, Jeremy Bentham has been a wonderful person to research and I can’t wait to learn even more about him!

I chose Frederick Douglass for my research project. The social justice focus of my research is racism. However Douglass also fought for women's rights. I chose Frederick Douglass because, well the actual reason is because he had poofy hair and it looked funny. The E.L.A. answer is because he was a very important person in the fight against racism. The part of the research process that makes me worried is the timeline for when everything is due sense sometimes we don't get enough work time for the project. Such as sometimes we only get like 20 minutes to get 10 note cards done and that we have to get at least 5 notecards from every source when all the facts are on biography.com. Anyways I'm looking forward to learning more about Frederick Douglass!

My research topic is Ruby Bridges. She was the first African American girl to go to a segregated school in New Orleans. Ruby is a racial activist, she wants racial equality among every school and place in general. I chose this topic because I learned a little bit about her from around school and other places and I wanted to learn more about who she is and what she fights for. I am excited about seeing the final product and seeing all the work the classes and I have done. I think Ruby Bridges is a good topic choice.

For our research project, I decided to research Martin Luther King Jr. He was a civil rights activist who stood up for what was right for his color and race. He has been thrown in jail many times for standing up for what’s right, and it all paid off to this day. There is a holiday for him that falls on the third Monday of every year. This year, it falls on January 18, about a week from now. I chose him as my topic because I know he made a huge difference in our world and he was familiar to me but I didn’t know a lot about him. The part of the research process that makes me the most worried is making sure I get all the information I need and writing the final.

I chose to research Harvey Milk. Harvey Milk mostly fought for the rights of gay people. I picked this topic because I have never learned that much about gay rights while I have researched a lot about gender equality and civil rights, I was excited to be able to research a different subject. He was a very well liked student at school and was very well-rounded. He knew he was gay in high school but didn’t come out until he moved to San Francisco and became a politician. He started to part take in movements for the rights of gay people in San Francisco too. I am very worried about including information that is not needed in the essay while I am most excited to find out more about which exact movements he was a big part in. Over all, I am very eager to find out more information on him.

The topic that I chose was Rigoberta Menchu. Rigoberta Menchu was involved in many things that she wanted to change. One thing that she did that I think was her biggest thing that she did was she joined the committee of the peasant union (cuc). She did this to proclaim fair justice, freedom, and rights because the own government was taking it away from them because of there culture in Guatemala. I choose this topic for a couple different t reasons. One reason was that when Ms. Murphy was reading the list of names she said that she did a research project on her when she was In collage and that she enjoyed doing it she was interesting. Another reason why I decided to do her was because when I looked her up it said that she was still living so I thought that, that was cool. The thing that makes me most worried is the legacy part of the project because she is still living that it might be harder. I am very excited to learn more about Rigoberta Menchu!

I picked Harvey Milk for my research project. Harvey Milk was a gay rights activist who was the first person that was openly gay person to run for a government position. He didn’t know he was gay until he was in high school and didn’t really do anything to fight for gay right until he moved to San Francisco. After that he failed to get in to office two times but on his third he did and he kept on being persistent until he got to where he wanted to be even though he was gay. I picked this person at random kind of, but once I started to read about him I got kind of interested. I’m kind of worried if I can get all the writing done by the deadlines and I’m excited to start the writing and putting all my ideas on paper.

Hi! My reaserch project is on Ruby Bridges. She is a social activist. She was the first black to go to an all white school. This made people very angry because African Americans are treated differently and not normal. I choose this topic because this was such a great act and it has changed our society today, also I wanted to learn more about her and interesting facts. Additionally I am happy to reaserch this topic because she came to our school last year. I'm scared that the facts might change knowing that she still is alive.

The topic I choose was Galileo Galilei. He lived in the 1500’s through 1600’s when the church taught everyone, and everyone believed that earth was the center of the universe. Galileo Galilei believed that until he made a few discoveries to show that the earth wasn’t the center of the universe. The church put him on trial because he challenged their beliefs. I choose this topic because no one else choose it and he was the oldest person on that list that I saw. The part of the research that made me the most worried was getting the note cards done. But, the part that I found the most exciting was finding out more about him.

For my research topic, I chose Mahatma Gandhi. I chose Gandhi because from what I heard about his powerful words and speeches, he sounded interesting. The social justice Gandhi stood up for was their freedom (India) from British rule. Gandhi’s most known protest was the Salt March. In this non-violent protest, Gandhi and over 60,000 Indians marched to the Arabian Sea. Back then, you could not touch the salt from the sea. But Gandhi did otherwise. He broke the law and took a handful of the salty sand and yelled “Salt!” Gandhi and over 1,000 Indians were arrested from this event. I was most worried to find out in a book, if Gandhi would be arrested or not. Another part of the book that made me anxious was when rumors started flying about police officers crowding behind the marchers.

For my research topic, I chose Clara Barton. She fought for gender equality, so women could do the same things men could do. When Clara was young, she enjoyed doing boyish activities rather to indoor girl ones. Her mother did not approve of this. Clara was very shy when she was little, so she became a teacher to cure her shyness. Many teachers were men at the time. She also was one of the first women to work in the U.S. Patent Office. After she helped wounded soldiers in the Civil War, Clara traveled to Europe and found the Red Cross. She then founded the American Red Cross to help victims of disasters. I chose this topic because I thought it was interesting how she founded the American Red Cross and it still helps many people today. I am excited to write the legacy section of this piece because she did so much to help the American Red Cross and the Civil War. I am a little worried to write the background section because there is not that much information on websites and books.

For my research topic I chose to do Harvey Milk. The social justice issue that he fought for was gay equality. I am interested in this topic because my aunts have not been able to get married and because of this past summer they now are married. The part of the research topic that makes me excited is getting to learn more about him, who I haven't previously learned about. I am very nervous about the part of the research project where I have to turn all of my notecards into an essay, I am not sure where to transition from background to social action.

I'm researching Kanye West. He is not someone you think when you hear social justice activist, but if you look behind the mask of rude, inconsiderate, selfish actions he has a good side deep down. Kanye West is going against the brutal rap game. Kanye is a rapper who will we're pink polo's to make a statement about rap fashion, but what really got me was the album 808's and heartbreaks. Every rap album before this was hardcore, but this album changed rap forever. He included heartbreak, love, personal loss, and much more in that catagory. People after that followed in his footsteps. I choose this because he seemed interesting and someone no one would choose.I'm exited about learning as much as I can about Yeezy.

For the research project I choose to do the singer Pink. She is an animal rights activist. She started by doing an animal rights campaign for PETA(people of ethical treatment of animals) in 2007. She also wrote a song about sticking up for animals called "Raise your Glass". She grew up in pennsylvania and her parents divorced when she was 3. Which caused her to not have a right role model so she got into drugs when she was 15 and almost overdosed. Because of her bad choices she wanted to start to give back so thats when she started doing things for PETA. I choose this topic because I love animals and I am a strong believer that animals should have rights. The thing in this project that makes me the most nervous is her legacy because she didn't do anything supper life changing.

For my topic I chose Jane Goodall. She was an animal rights activist. I chose this topic because last year I did a paper on animal rights and I wanted to learn more about the people who were involved because I was still interested in the topic. I am most excited for the final product because I will be able to see all my hard work be put together and I have a feeling that it will be very good. I am most nervous for writing the draft because I will need to organize everything in a specific way and I am worried that I will leave something very important out.

I'm researching Maya Angelou. She is an activist in many areas, including marriage rights and poor people's rights, but her main focus was on African American rights and women's rights. Maya Angelou was an author, a poet, an actress, a director, a journalist, a screenwriter, and more. Her most famous book, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, is a combination of fiction and her true childhood. It tells the story of overcoming oppression and unfairness. This piece of literature, and many others by Angelou, provided hope and inspiration to people enduring oppression.

The topic I chose for my research is Ruby Bridges. She was and still continues to be a civil rights activist for African American equality. She was the first black child to go to a all-white southern elementary school. I chose this woman because she paved the way for all other African American children after her to have the courage to know that they deserve the same quality of education. What disgusts me is how awful and racist people were towards this girl when she was only in 1st grade. The level of racism shocks me but not as much as the extreme bravery and courage Ruby Bridges showed.

I enjoy this research topic paper. I chose a man named Arthur Ashe. He is a social activist for black people. He also is an activist for AIDS. I chose this topic because he plays tennis and so do I. Also I feel strongly about racism and he suffered those issues. Lastly, I picked him because tennis is interesting to me and he has accomplished so many tennis achievements, I want to learn more about him. Finally, my family likes tennis and lives in NYC and he has a court there and I want to visit it. I am nervous about writing the actual paper because I’m not sure if I will have the right format. Secondly, I am not too thrilled on writing an essay in this format. I enjoyed researching this topic and taking notes. This is who I am researching and why I like it.

The topic I researched was Kanye West. He is an American singer, song writer, and rapper. The social justice issue he is fighting for is african American civil rights when it comes to paparazzi. In May of 2013 West smacked a paparazzi camera when he already asked them to stop and they did not listen so when he already asked numerous times. That is how he chose to handle the situation. Kanye West has created many albums that show how he is fighting for the rights consiting of song titles that represent the cities he grew up in, the challenges he faces now. I chose this person because I already knew some things about him and wanted to find out more. I am happy about how this person helped the world.

The topic that i'm researching in this project is Malala Yousafzai. The social justice for her is fighting for women's education and she got shot by the head by a talibian guy but survived and continued to fight for women's education. I chose this topic because it looked interesting and a lot of other people are researching her so I researched her. The most exciting part for me is when we are going to do the final piece because it is fun and it is the end of this project.

My research topic for this essay was Mother Teresa. She was a social justice activist and a Catholic nun who devoted her life to aiding those in need. On September 10, 1946 Christ spoke to her telling her to work in the poorest slums around the world. She worked in the slums of India for many years and performed many more kind deeds. I chose Mother Teresa as my topic because I am Catholic and I believe that Mother Teresa did some amazing work over her lifetime and hope that one day I can impact people the way she did. I am very excited about this project because there are a lot of facts about Mother Teresa and I think what she did was fantastic.

My research topic is Nate Robinson. He is a professional basketball player that has problems playing against his opponents due to his height. The problem is in professional leagues like basketball and football players are usually over 6 feet tall. But players like Nate have to work even harder to succeed in these leagues, like how a little brother might have trouble playing with his older brother. I chose the topic because I noticed that lots of people our age aren't very tall and may have a tough time playing with other kids that are taller than them, or even mocked for their height. What makes me most excited about the research is finding out about how Nate played in the NBA with his height disadvantage. My dad and I love statistics. We love looking at the numbers, The averages, awards and how a player is ranked among his piers. That's part of my dad's job, and it kind of runs in the family. If you asked me how Karl Malone is ranked in the history of the Nba, I would be able to tell you roughly how many points he scored, what teams he played for, and even where he went to college. I love studying sports like that, and that what I got to do in this project.

My research topic is about Malala Youfzai. This young 15-years –old brave girl was living in Mingora, Pakistan. Which lives under Taliban control. The situation in Pakistan, girls couldn’t allowed to have education, Malala stood up for her women’s basic education right and was shot by Taliban. When she was an High school junior she starting blogging BBC webpage, living under Taliban’s threats. I chose this topic because I didn’t know a lot about Malala. I surprised she is youngest possess of Nobel peace prize. For her activism about speech of women’s basic right she was shot by Taliban gunman but after that process she didn’t stopped to speaking about it. She had a speech in big conference in United Nations. Had a work with Indian kids education professor. Now she was send back to her country by approved security.

I chose Malala for my research project. I chose Malala because I knew she stood up for girls education, and i enjoy my education, and think everyone should have an equal one. Malala was a young girl in central Pakistan who's education was being threatened, by the Tabilan, people that attempted to take over Pakistan, and to make new laws. I thought she was very interesting to rescerch. Malala seems like a great research project and I am enjoying this so far!

My research topic for this research project is Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa is well known for her work with the poor all around the world especially in India. As our class had to choose a topic I thought of her because I heard about her on the news on how she was going to be an official catholic saint in the year of 2016 or this year. The social justice problem Mother Teresa faced was she stood up for lots of adults, teens, and kids in poverty or had hiv/aid's. She set up a multitude of facilities all over the world for these people. Mother Teresa has also won many awards for her work with the poor. Mother Teresa also has influenced many other people to work with the poor also.Mother Teresa was born into an Albanian family that was really poor. After she was about twelve years old she decided to choose the religious life. She stuck with the religious life for almost all of her life. Mother Teresa started one main charity for her contributions to the people in poverty. Her charity also still stands tall and proud, still helping people in poverty all around the world.

I chose to research Harvey Milk. He was a gay rights activist. He was gay, and he thought he should help those who couldn't speak up for themselves. He led boycotts, marches, and speeches. He knew that gays weren't treated like equals and he wanted to show people that they can do the same things everyone else. Milk ran for public office, but didn't win the first two times. Third time was a charm, because he became the first openly gay person to win office. He became a Supervisor for the state of San Francisco. Sadly he was tragically assassinated by Dan White, the ex-city supervisor, on November 27, 1978. Because of Harvey Milk, gays have more rights. I chose this topic, because people always treat gays, lesbians, and people who are transgender, badly, because they are "different" when they are the same as everyone else. I feel so bad for those people, so this was the topic I had in mind. I am very excited to learn about what he did to help gays get the freedom they needed.

The person I am doing is Booker T Washington. The issue that he had was he thought that African American children were not getting the education they needed he also set up school to train teachers. I chose this topic because I had heard of him before and have done research on African Americans before and he was not on the list so I could not do him for projects. The part of the project I was most worried about was the outline and note taking. I was most worried about it because Cause there were so many steps and so many websites to choose from. The thoughts that were going through my head which is better which has the most facts. Which has better sources. Where did they get their facts from.
