I am most interested in learning about Native American rights. This is because they are more of an issue than they get credit for. No one really seems to focus on their rights, they don’t even get called by the correct name! I understand Native Americans weren’t treated as unfairly as other races so recently, but that doesn’t mean that we should just pretend it never happened. Back in the fifteenth century, the way Natives were treated was a nightmare. They deserve more focus. I am most interested in researching Chief Joseph because we are very distant relatives (very distant) and I would love to learn more about him. My questions are, when was he alive? What is his main accomplishment? What caused his death? (natural or unnatural). I may want to research Mahatma Gandhi because I know he was a great man, but I still don’t know much about him or what he fought for.

I am most interested in the disabilities movement because my sister had disabilities and I would like to know more about it and how it impacted others that had disabilities and who was part of the movement. I am most interested in researching Helen Keller because I find it amazing what she accomplished with being blind and deaf, and some people cant even do with having all abilities. I still have questions about the disabilities movement such as, who was part of it? How did it start? And what role did Helen Keller take part as. Another social activist I would like to research is Gloria Steinem because I think women's rights are very important and I would like to understand what she did to support the cause. There are so many different movements, social activists etc. these are the ones i would like to know more about and are drawn too.

The movement that I’m interested in researching is the Civil Rights movement. I chose this because when I was researching Martin Luther King Jr. it was interesting to read about the boycotts and protests he had for equality and to end discrimination. I am most interested in researching about Jesse Owens. I want to research about Jesse Owens because he is a four gold medalists from the Berlin Olympics and I am reading “The Boys In the Boat” which takes place in this time. A question I have about my activists is, was it hard getting into the Olympic games because of discrimination? Another question is, how long did the Civil Rights movement last? My last question is, did you ever think that if you won the four gold medals that you would change history? Another activists i would be interested in learning about is Nelson Mandela.

I am most interested in researching the Civil Rights movement, because it is one of the biggest events in U.S history, and i find leaning about it very interesting.I am interested in researching Rosa Parks, because i love how she fought for equal rights by just saying no, instead of using violence.A question that i still have is, how long was Rosa Parks in jail for?I might be interested in researching Peter Steudtner, because it would be interesting to learn about his life.

I am most interested in researching the NAACP, because it was the most prominent civil rights movement. I am most interested in researching Jackie Robinson, because I like baseball. 3 questions I have about Jackie Robinson are: 1. How many times has he gotten arrested? 2. How much money did he make in the MLB? 3. What was his career after civil rights were in place, and everything was equal? I think it would be interesting to learn more about animal rights activists, like Elisa Aaltola, because I love animals (especially dogs and cats). I would also like to learn more about Muhammad Ali, because I like sports, Malcolm X, because I think he’s underappreciated, or at least that not many people know a lot about him, and Rosa Parks, because I like learning about civil rights activists, but I already know a lot about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I don’t know whether the activists I just mentioned were on posters or not, because I got picked up early on Friday, and wasn’t here for ELA.

The movement that I would like to research more was the Animal Conservation movement because I really enjoyed reading about Jane Goodall and how she went to Africa and studied chimpanzees. The activist that I was most interest in was Jane Goodall because she enjoyed going outside and playing with animals and also she lived during World War II which was one of my favorite time periods. How old was she when she died? Do people know who killed her/ or how she died? Is there still chimpanzee research going on today/after her death? Did she go looking for chimpanzees by herself? Another Activist that I would like to research is Lady GaGa because she is very accepting many people and want everyone to stick together. She believes in women rights and sticks up for what she believes in.(I also love her music.) This is why I was interest in Jane Goodall and Lady GaGa.

Based on my gallery walk research the movements that seemed most interested was the activist Nelson Mandela. The movement Nelson Mandela was civil right in south africa, he has been a global advocate for human rights. He was a leader of both peaceful protests and armed resistance against the white minority’s oppressive regime in a racially divided South Africa. His actions landed him in prison for nearly three decades and made him the face of the anti apartheid movement both within his country and internationally. But he remained a devoted champion for peace and social justice in his own nation and around the world, even after being in jail. He remained a devoted champion for peace and social justice in his own nation and around the world. Nelson Mandela was the first black President of South Africa. He spent 27 years in prison for trying to overthrow the pro-apartheid government. After he left prison, he worked to achieve human rights and a better future for everyone in South Africa. But the only question I would have asked him before he died is how did you get through your problems mentally even if you see that your friends and family die right in front of you. Another question is what kept you going during your darkest times of your life.My last question I would have asked him was even though you lost some lives during the act to you regret doing some of the thing you did during protesting.FInally other additional activist i would do was Malcolm X or MLK Jr.

The movement that I am most interested in researching is the civil rights movement. To me and my family it is important to be educated on the struggle that our past ancestors had to go through. The activist that I am most interested in researching is Oprah Winfrey. She is a strong woman who started from nothing and made herself something and I respect that. My mom also loves her so that's an add on bonus. Some questions I have about the civil rights movement is overall how long did it last? (or is it still happening) and how long did it take for our voices to be heard? (for change to strike) A question I have about Oprah is what started off her career to becoming the powerful billionaire she is today? Two other social activists I am interested in are Ellen Degeneres and Malcolm X. For Malcolm X I have always been interested in the violent part of the civil rights movement. I always want to know more about the black panthers. For Ellen I love watching her show and even though she doesn’t start marches and things like that she holds lots of charity events for animals and women rights.

I am most interested in researching the disability rights movement because this interests me greatly. I want to learn about how the world has changed since then. I would like to learn more about Helen Keller because she is a true inspiration to blind and deaf people, also to all. She is both blind and deaf and she earned a college degree. I learned that she had worked very hard to learn that she was blind and deaf and tried to make do with what she had. I wonder how long it took her to learn how to communicate with people. What kind of school did she go to in her teen years? Who was her teacher and how did she learn to speak? I would also like to research Fatima al-Aqel. She opened a school for blind women in Yemen in 1995. Helen Keller was a helper, a hero, and a beautiful person that have changed many people's lives.

I’m most interested in researching the Civil Rights Movement. The reason why I am interested in this topic is because I haven’t learned a lot about this topic. I know that Martin Luther King Jr, gave the “I Had a Dream Speech” and this was very interesting to me. I am most interested in researching the activist Jesse Owen because he is a runner and I like running. Track is one of my favorite sports to play and that is one of the reasons I choose Jesse Owens. One of the three questions that I have about this movement is: Is it still taking place in some countries? Another question I have is what is Jesse Owen’s impact on the Civil Rights Movement? A final question I have is if it is still a movement in our country today? If I had to choose an additional activist I would choose Miles Davis because he was a trumpet player who helped the Civil Rights Movement through a different style of jazz music.

I most want to learn about the civil rights movement, it was a hard fought battle over science our ancestor brought slaves to America. Even today racism still is very prevalent in our modern society. I am most interested in researching Abraham Lincoln, this is because he was in a different spot than most activists he was in a position of power, he already had a voice that people would listen to. Instead of just sitting on his power and not doing anything with it he fought for the oppressed when others wouldn’t or just weren’t making a big enough commotion to get people to stand up for what is right. My first question about Abraham is: how did people react when he announced he’d fight to abolish slavery? Next: Do you think we'll ever abolish racism, did Lincoln? And lastly: Did Andrew Johnson (the president after Lincoln) share Lincoln's beliefs when it came to civil rights? If I were to rechearch another activist I would research Maya Angelou a poet, singer and women's rights activist.

The movement I am most interested is Animal rights because I am an animal person and I think equality is important The social activist I am most interested in researching is Jane Goodall because she is really inspiring because she stood up for what she knew was right and she also had all this information she got herself. I still do have some questions about Jane Goodall like, Was there anyone that really inspired her? Did she have a team with her when she went to the wild? How long did it take for people to listen to her? Some other activists I am also interested in are Ruby Bridges, Rosa Parks, Helen Keller, Gloria Steinem, and Nelan Mandel. Also no one researched Sarah Moore Grimke but she is also really interesting to me and I think it would be fun to research her.

The movement I am most interesting is the civil rights movement. The era of civil rights was a very interesting time for our country. I have had some chances to learn about civil rights. even though there was many activists that fought against slavery and segregation. One activist stood out to me. Nelson mandela was a very relentless person. He interested me because even though he was arrested for breaking the law he still fought for civil rights. Nelson mandela was arrested for running a group called ANC (african national congress) even though the police already told him he could not run this group anymore Nelson mandela served a total of 27 years. While he was in jail people protested on the streets and held signs that said “free Mandela”. After he got out of jail he still fought for civil rights. In 1994 nelson mandela was elected the first black president of South Africa.

The movement I am most interested in is the Disability Movement because people in my family(my grandparents) fought the school so my aunt, who has disabilities, wouldn’t be separated from the rest of the class even though she was just as smart as all of the other kids. This movement has always interested me and I want to learn more about it so I can somehow make a difference. The person I am most interested in researching is Helen Keller, because she struggled throughout her whole life, because she was blind and deaf, but she still fought against the mistreatment of the blind and deaf, and also managed to win multiple awards, and get a bachelor of arts degree. Some questions I have about this movement and this activist, are: How did she become blind and deaf? How did Helen Keller communicate if she couldn’t hear or see sign language? Also, who are other people who fought for this movement? Other social activists I would want to research that weren’t on posters are Rosie O’Donnell and Jesse Jackson(I’m not sure if anyone did posters on them, but I don’t remember seeing them).

Gandhi is the most interesting person out of all of them because he just stands out from the others more. Gandhi fought for India’s independence from British rule and for the rights of India’s poor. Also he’s part of the Civil Right Movement. The Civil Rights Movement included many other famous people like JFK, MLK, Malcolm X, and Richard Nixon. The Civil Rights Movement is When people were fighting for black Americans rights during 1950 and 1960. Some questions I have are when was Gandhi born and when did he die? Why did Gandhi choose to help people? What is a famous quote from Gandhi? I also like how Malala stood up for people. Here are some other activists I’d like to research Ruby Bridges and Steve Biko.

I am most interested in researching animal rights movements because I believe just like us, animals should be cared for and loved. They are a blessing to us and are of course adorable. People always say, “Oh how would you like it if you were with your family and all of a sudden someone came and killed you, just like an animal.”, and it’s true. I am the most interested in researching Jane Goodall, this is because I am very interested by her career and her impact. A question I have about this activist or movement are if it’s wrong for human beings to hurt animals, is it wrong for sharks to hurt fish? Or for lions to hurt Zebras? Are activists in this movement upset by the way animals treat each other in the wild? Another question I have would be do they support the idea of having pets? A final question I have is should some animals have more rights than others? Additional activists I may want to study would be Mother Teresa, Gloria Steinem, or Bell Hooks.

The movement I am most interested in researching is the Civil Rights Movement because the majority of the activists are the from that movement and there are many ways that those activists expressed their thoughts and I want to learn about a few of those. The activist associated with this movement that I want to research is Mahatma Gandhi because I’ve heard a lot about him, but I don’t really know what he was protesting for. I also like his idea of peaceful protest. A couple questions I have about Gandhi is what he was fighting for and also why and how he protested. Overall, I would really enjoy doing a project on him. Another activist that I found that wasn’t on a poster is Bill Russell. Bill played for the Boston Celtics for 14 years and despite being one of their best players ever, was unaccepted in Boston due to the color of his skin.I would also want to research him because I am a huge basketball fan and already know a little bit about him.

I am most interested in researching the Anti-Apartheid Movement which took place in South Africa from 1960 to 1994 because I wouldn’t expect there to be discrimination against black people in Africa. It was surprising and interesting to learn, and I thought that the story of those fighting for their freedom in South Africa was inspirational. It is similar to the Civil Rights Movement in the United States, but is something that I have heard much less about, and would like to learn more. Nelson Mandela stands out to me the most because he was an important leader of the Anti-Apartheid Movement, and the story of his life and his struggle fascinate and inspire me. He was very gallant and was willing to fight for his cause and lead the black community to their eventual freedom in 1994. During this time, he was put in jail for 27 years, and still managed to sneak messages of hope to his followers. I find this amazing and at the same time incomprehensible that he survived so many years in prison and still had hope for the future. I wonder: What was his childhood like? How did he get a message to his followers while he was in prison? What did he do after he was released from prison and apartheid was made illegal? I might also want to research Frederick Douglas Reese or Nina Simone.

I am the most interested in researching the civil rights movement. This movement interests me because it has had a positive effect on everyone, not just one group of people. I am most interested in researching Mohammed Ali because he was peaceful in his protestests, but not in his professional like as a boxer. One question I have about this movement was: What motivated the protesters of the civil rights movement to risk their lives, everyday, to spread their message in the hope of change, while nothing seemed to change? Another question I have is: What happened to Mohammed Ali after he refused to be drafted into the Vietnamese war? A final question I have is: Why did Malcolm X stop mentoring Mohammed Ali? One person that I would also like to research that was not on a poster would have to be Ella Baker. Even though she is not very well known as a civil rights leader, she was inspired to protest against the Jim Crow laws in the south, much like Martin Luther King Jr.

I’m also interested in the Civil Rights Movement and the Women Rights Movement but I already know more about them. The activist I’m most interested in researching is Rachel Carson because I agree with her work with getting rid of pesticides and fertilizers and I think the ocean is an amazing place just like she does. Some questions I still have about the environment movements are did they happen all over the world or just in the United States and how did the activists go about protesting? A question I have about Rachel Carson is besides the pesticides and fertilizers, did she protest about anything else? It has so much significance and is so important in people’s everyday lives since then. I’m not interested in researching anyone specific, anyone who had the right perspective that black people should have equal rights like other citizens. A question I have about this movement is, where and how did it start? Who was the first big person in the movement, and what did they do? What exact year were most people changing their minds about black people and their rights? Who were some major people against black rights? Additional activists would like to research would be Rosa Parks, Muhammad Ali, MLK Jr., Lena Horne, and Ruby Bridges, and maybe some more underrated people that don’t get as much credit. I am most interested in researching the civil rights movement because i like to see people be inspired by a person who wants to see good done to their oppressors. I want to research Mahatma Gandhi because he was a courageous person who always saw hardship as an opportunity to do good and help his people. I wonder about Gandhi if there was ever a time in his life where he doubted his peaceful methods or if he felt as if he wasn’t making a difference. I wonder that in his youth did he ever feel like he was going to make a difference for his people and for the world. I wonder if there was a time in his life when he felt hatred for someone and could not forgive him even though he based his life around peace. Personally, I am most interested in Civil Rights Activists and Women’s Rights. I would like to research and do my project on Langston Hughes because he is an inspirational poet to me and many. His inspiring work stirred a conversation about African American and their individual rights. Hughes’ poems are creative and diverse from the other collections of poetry I have read in the past few months. At first, these poems seem cryptic and meaningless. But, once you begin reading, a deeper solution is found. They are creative and really make the person reading them rethink the meaning of the poem entirely.

I am interested in this movement because I am fascinated by how women persevered through adversity and won rights that should have already applied to them. I am most interested in learning about Sojourner Truth. I think her story is one that I would like to look into more because she was very straight forward and demanded what she wanted. She was a courageous woman who helped to make some significant progress towards the Women’s Rights Movement. Some questions I have about Sojourner Truth and the Women’s Rights Movement are, What was mentioned in Sojourner Truth’s “Ain’t I a woman” speech? How long did the fight for women’s rights last. Is it still going on, since women and men don’t have equal pay? Some other social activists I would like to research are, Alice Paul, Lucy Stone, and Ida B. Wells.

I am most interested in the movement that Helen Keller made. That was a movement to let people with disabilities have more rights. I think that this movement would be interesting to research because I love the fact that she tried to help these people with disabilities. Just because someone has a disability doesn’t mean that they should be treated differently than someone without one. I want to know more about what she did to fight for this, if she was related or friends with anyone with a disability, and why she felt so strongly about fighting for these people to have equal rights. I would be interested in researching Doris Day because she was an activist for animal welfare. Animal welfare is how an animal receives treatment, if it’s good or bad treatment. She believed animals should be treated well. I definitely agree with this all animals should be treated kindly.
